Goals

· To provide relevant and timely professional learning opportunities.

· To build capacity for ongoing school-based professional learning.

· To align professional learning to school priorities and teacher interests.

Stages in ‘School-based Professional Learning’

1	Capacity building Workshops	Workshops for knowledge and skills for ongoing professional learning (See list)
2	Self sufficiency	Dedicated software: ICTs. Competencies.
3	Optional Workshops	Follow-through workshops …. or School Designed and delivered
4	After care	Support as required: Email, telephone,
5	School based- programs	School designed, but supported programs

Flexible Delivery

Methods of delivery can be chosen by the school e.g.

During school day: small groups – periodic release	After school twilight workshops
Full day or half day School Development Days	Staff meeting – demonstration or workshop
Train the trainer	Individual coaching e.g. graduates

Certification

· Competency checklists are provided for workshops

· Workshops outcomes and competency tasks are certificated for WACOT requirements
