Change management / Implementation plans
Curriculum leaders can be support with change management programs:
· Implementation plans include: checklists, benchmarks and timelines.
· Professional development programs can be aligned with the change management plan.
Curriculum Design
The Curriculum Organiser is designed to enable curriculum leaders to organise and coordinate the school learning program, quickly and effectively.
· System requirements are reproduced exactly so that leaders and teachers are aware of their accountability responsibilities.
· Scope and Sequence charts are provided for comprehensive, coherent developmental programming.
· Supervision and monitoring is facilitated through simple colour coding techniques. Documents are then submitted at the click of a button.
Supporting teachers
Curriculum leaders have the tools to support teachers at different stages of development through comprehensive exemplar plans and software that enables teachers to locate appropriate documents.
· Learning area and Integrated units are provided.
· Checklists and rubrics, help to clarify expectations.
· Individual teacher plans are valued, and all documents can be adapted to suit the local context.
Whole of school approach
Effective educational change occurs within a school context. A whole of school approach is essential for effective change management. Decision making is facilitated as teachers are referring to common documents with similar formats.
The organisational structure is also shared by all teachers. The Curriculum Organiser supports the whole of school approach by:
· A ‘public contents tree’ with all school documents accessible by all teachers.
· Agreed documents are saved into dedicated ‘School Folders’ (Red)
· Efficient resource management - resources from all sources can be imported, for all to access.
· Shared planning expectations can more easily be met by all teachers
Accountability
The Curriculum Organiser is designed to connect ‘policy’ and ‘practice’. i.e. schools are able to identify system expectations and demonstrate that they are translated into classroom practice. The document planning flow provides the evidence for this process.
Supervision of teachers is easier, because it is easier for teachers to follow the processes:
· Teachers can meet expectations by referring to school approved programs
· Teacher planning documents can be submitted, through the click of a mouse.
Professional Learning
School leaders align the school professional learning programs to the change management plans and the school level curriculum development programs. A range of professional learning opportunities are provided including:
· Online courses, tutorials and webinars
· School based workshops and capacity building programs
· Appointment of school based coaches and trainers
· Creation of collaborative groups with well designed team structures
