| Rationale · School level curriculum leadership is vital for a coordinated, coherent developmental program. · ICT structures and processes provide for efficient coordination, supervision, sharing. Accountability requirements can then be addressed by teachers efficiently. Course description · The goal is to enable you to coordinate the school learning program easily and efficiently, while providing valued support · You will be able to demonstrate the accountability requirements for both State, and ACARA National Curriculum. · Establish shared scope and sequence charts across the school. · Promote engaging learning programs applying sound pedagogical principles. · Establish assessment, recording, reporting procedures. Modules The course comprises 5 modules, each of approximately two to four hours: M1. Understand curriculum design. Answer the key questions of: why we teach, what, when, how, with-what, so what, how well. M2. Establish procedures to meet system requirements and demonstrate accountability. Prepare whole of school Scope and Sequence charts to answer ‘what- when’. M3. Promote learning programs that connect curriculum and pedagogy including: learning strategies, activities, resources, IWB. M4. Supervision processes including the creation of teacher schedules and checklists. M5. Choosing across school assessment tasks and criteria for standards. ‘So-what, How well’.
