Rationale

·         Use of ICT for planning will save time, reduce workload as it makes planning more efficient and effective

·         Through regular use of ICT teachers build the confidence and capacity to use ICT for teaching and learning .

Course description

·         The goal is to ‘build capacity’ in teachers to become effective users of ICT in all education and learning contexts.

·         Skill development: navigate, edit, create. Store, import, share,

·         Organising learning programs: produce documents e.g. scope and sequence.

Modules

The course comprises 5 modules, each of approximately 1-4 hours:

M1. Understand how to insert the E-address, log on, open and close folders, structure, navigate through the contents tree. Select.

M2. Organise personal documents, convert to MS Word for editing, create own documents. Selecting and creating new documents: graphic organisers and integrated units. Copy and paste schedules.

M3. Creating a ‘Personal Curriculum Centre’, importing documents from all sources. Connecting documents. Use of hyperlinks. 

M4. Creating learning area plans with ICT. Scope and Sequence, Learning Area units

M5. Choosing and using the assessment tasks. Use of checklists and rubrics.

Audience:  Teachers, curriculum leaders and parents

Delivery mode: self-paced, independent, and supported.

Access: Open to all teachers from all States

Tasks:  Produce plans using ICT for your subject / year.

Assessment:  Submit relevant plans to verify.
