I can't access the Internet

Answer

Each school sets up their computers differently and sometimes you won't have access to the internet.

In many cases the school points the computer to the school proxy server. This prevents access to the Internet unless through the proxy (which prevents access to "bad sites"). The school then requires administrator rights to be able to install software and to independently access the internet.

Because of these proxies, teachers can not access the internet to be able to access the Online Curriculum Organiser / TOPS program.

Disabling the proxy

Open Internet Explorer and select Tools > Internet Options > Connection > LAN.
Untick ‘Use proxy server’ (This will grey out the Proxy 8080).
Tick ‘Auto Detect’ (This may not be essential)

This should disable the proxy and allow you to access the internet. Please Remember to Follow the process above and replace the tick in ‘Use Proxy Server’ once you are done.
